This project is simple and doesn’t take very long at all, maybe about an hour from start to finish. After you’re finished, you will want to roll up the fabric and lights for storage until the wedding. Consider covering it as well, to keep and dirt or dust from settling on it. We covered ours with garbage bags since black dog fur and white curtains are not exactly friends.
If you’d like to do a little further reading,  here are a couple of links to tutorials that I found helpful before trying this myself. Prop Insanity has a great one with pictures of their actual studio set up using this type of background and Digitial Photography School has a great article on How to Take Beautiful Bokeh Christmas Images . (Bokeh being that gorgeous background blur we all love). You can also check out my Photography board on pinterest for more ideas.  If you do try this, I would LOVE to see your finished product so please come share with us on Facebook.
I would definitely play around with it. Your not going to want to go too wide with 4 because odds are they will move around a bit and you’ll end up with some soft faces. Some key things to remember would be try to keep their faces all on the same plane of focus, that will allow you to shoot a little wider. Generally with 4 kids I would aim to shoot around f/4 but certainly play around. At that aperture you may want to consider moving them further away from the background. Keep in mind the closer you are to them and the further away from the background they are the more bokeh you will get!

Made of moderately thick, heavy material, canvas used to be the most popular among photography backdrops. However, due to its bulk and cost, it has been overshadowed by muslin backdrops in terms of popularity. Nevertheless, a good canvas backdrop will last a long time and provide a classy look to your shots. While you can bring canvas photo backdrops with you, they’re best suited for studio work since they easily wrinkle when stored in a duffel bag.
This was my first order with this product and I like it. The only thing that threw me off is that I expected it to be as pictured. Brick all as the 9x6 and the extra white on the bottom. It is in fact 9x6. I have included a couple test shots. The product works as expected. I love white back grounds. I think that this adds just a little bit of texture to them. Also important to not be right up against the backdrop. make sure that you get some distant between the subject and the back drop.

It was higher quality then I had expected . One side is a very soft and silky/shiny material. The photo is only on one side , just to let you know . Needs to be ironed but ours broke and we do not have an iron at the moment. If the lines were out it would look absolutely gorgeous. Totally changed the feel of a room. Bought the 60”W by 80”L . Not disappointed.
Even shooting on location you can achieve some background lighting magic. The sun moves around throughout the day — think east to west as well as dawn to dusk. Analyze what time of the day the sun will project the light on your subject at the desired angle. Note: Hard light (direct sun) will create darker shadows while diffused light (cloudy overcast) will create softer shadows.
Stands often come with crossbars that can support a cloth, vinyl, muslin, or paper backdrop and are secured by either slipping it through a pole pocket or by clamps. For many stands, a crossbar is not needed if the backdrop is canvas or vinyl and has a wooden mounting. Single portable backdrop stands are also available. Portable photography stands are easy to set up, break down, and transport to locations.
This kit is truly jaw dropping. First of all, the quality of all of the products are amazing. The fabrics on the backdrops is professional level and the quality of the fabric of the soft boxes is even better. the lights are really strong and bright but the soft boxes make it... softer. The Background support is really sturdy and it is something that you can rely on. The reflectors comes in handy if you are one of those people who like to use it. Every product comes with well packaged and most come with a carry bag which is very nice. The second thing that is that the price is unbelievable. It comes with 4 lights, three different backdrops and all of the metal pieces! YOU WON"T FIND A BETTER DEAL! This is a great product for the professional photographer or for those starting out and want to have ... full review
Another buyer mentions that it’s easy to adjust the portable backdrop stand and that it’s perfect for light-weight backdrops. He highly recommends it as one of the best background stands available. However, a couple of users have noted that the product is flimsy and breaks because the plastic is of poor quality. Some also complain that they received a damaged unit.

To start constructing this DIY backdrop, measure how thick your elbow is compared to your curtain rod, and add electrical tape around the end of the rod until you have a tight fit. For most people, it will be easier to put a little bit of tape on at a time, testing the fit every so often until it’s snug, but measurements can give you a good base to start with. Don’t attach the rod to the elbow yet, however.

No more wasting your money on cheap vinyl. We've got just what you're looking for in a professional fabric photo backdrop. We print on high quality, matte finish, non-glare cloth with a dye sublimation process that exceeds expectations. We even have three different fabrics to choose from, allowing for further individualization! Other companies either print on subpar materials (like vinyl, muslin, or even paper!) or they print direct to fabric, which lessens the resolution and leaves you wanting more. Here at Photo Pie, we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service through your entire ordering process. Whether you're needing a one time backdrop for a party or needing durable, wrinkle free backdrops for your photography studio, we've got professionally sublimated backdrops just for you!
