This is my first DIY project. I decided to make this backdrop stand so when I film my YouTube videos. I bought all of the products used from my local Home Depot. I bought three 10 feet long PCV pipes. 4 end caps, 4 T-caps and 2 Elbow Caps. I had a Home Depot Employee cut the PCV pipe for me in store. The 1st PCV was cut in TWO 54 inch long pieces. The 2nd PCV pipe was cut into FOUR 30 inch long pieces. The 3rd PCV pipe was cut into FOUR 12 inch long pieces. I got this idea from Pinterest and I found it very helpful. I spent $10.23 total, including tax, and it took me less than 10 minutes to construct this project. This is great for Vlogging, low-budget photography studios or even a photo-booth at an or birthday party!

The simple ones are easy to set up and break down and are well suited for location work, while sophisticated, permanent studio systems can hold multiple backgrounds that can be raised or lowered either manually or at the flip of a switch.
Shooting on a clean white backdrop can be one of the more complex in-studio lighting setups around. Properly exposing for full lengths while giving your models room to work can require four or more extra lights and considerable amount of setup time. While taking the time to take care of the details is important for getting the perfect image and saving yourself hours of retouching on the back end, sometimes you just want to get a nice clean background without the hours of prep.

The key to getting those gorgeous big bubbles of light in the background is to locate your subject a decent distance from the lights while at the same time positioning yourself as close to your subject as you can be to get the shot you want and setting the aperture on your camera just about as wide open as you can. The further away your subject is from the lights, the closer your are to your subject and the wider the aperture…..the bigger the lights.

Made from styrene, a wrinkle-free plastic, this versatile backdrop can be used as a light table, prop setup or a seamless background. You can cut Translum with scissors, so you can whittle down a roll into any shape you desire. Nice strong clamp. Seems well made for an inexpensive gadget. Very handy addition to the things you can mount a camera to when either you don't have a tripod or the tripod just won't work. I have not tried it with the SLR but should hold well unless the camera is quite large or with a long heavy lens. Probably best with P&S or the smaller SLR & lenses.

Great backdrop! I had been looking for a hand painted backdrop but had found that most of them were far too expensive for my budget. Some of the more expensive backdrops also appeared to have far too many design and color variations for my needs. This backdrop is excellent quality and the color is perfect! The slight variations between dark and light gray look lovely in my images.
This kit is truly jaw dropping. First of all, the quality of all of the products are amazing. The fabrics on the backdrops is professional level and the quality of the fabric of the soft boxes is even better. the lights are really strong and bright but the soft boxes make it... softer. The Background support is really sturdy and it is something that you can rely on. The reflectors comes in handy if you are one of those people who like to use it. Every product comes with well packaged and most come with a carry bag which is very nice. The second thing that is that the price is unbelievable. It comes with 4 lights, three different backdrops and all of the metal pieces! YOU WON"T FIND A BETTER DEAL! Love this! I am an armature photographer and have only used a few vinyl backdrops in the past. I needed a solid grey backdrop and thought I would try one of these because they are so much cheaper than the vinyl I had purchased in the past. It was super easy to use. I do just natural lighting so it was nice to not have to deal with a glare like I do on my vinyl ones. I also loved that it was so easy to set up and take down. I had read reviews that said collapsing it back up is difficult but I had a friend with me when using it and I asked her to hold one end and it literally took me less than 30 seconds on the first try...maybe we just got lucky? I wish they had more ... full review
Football season is nearly upon us and Backdrop Express’s sports and stadium-themed printed backdrops are a great way to capitalize on the bone crunching. They’re available in poly paper or vinyl in either 4 x 5-foot or 5 x 6-foot sizes, or a fabric with sizes ranging from 5 x 6.5 feet up to 10 x 10 feet in a choice of light or heavyweight. The poly paper version is water resistant and has a matte finish. If you opt for vinyl, you’ll get a more durable backdrop that’s also water resistant and has a matte finish. The heavyweight fabric is a polyester/cotton knot that’s washable and wrinkle resistant with a sewn-in rod pocket. The lightweight fabric is a 100 percent polyester weave that Backdrop Express likens to a tablecloth. It, too, is wrinkle resistant, though less than the heavyweight fabric. On the plus side, Backdrop Express says the printed design is “slightly clearer” on the lightweight version. Decisions, decisions. 
In summary, the key factors to getting the backdrop and subject lit in a similar exposure zone is distance; The distance of the subject to the background and the distance of the light source to the subject. Decrease the distance of the subject to background and increase the distance of the main light to the subject to make this easier. The key factor for getting a soft and directional quality to the light is also distance, but it's the opposite. By getting the light closer to the subject, we can create a softer light with more directional qualities. Also remember that these qualities of the light are relative to the size of the light source. If you are using a smaller light source, you will need to get it in closer to hold those transitional values. If you are using a larger light source, you may be able to get your light further back and still hold those soft-light qualities. Also, if the examples and basic principles here make sense to you, you have kind of just learned the inverse square law!

A good canvas backdrop can provide an amazing look to the photographers scenes and can even last for a longer span of time. These backdrops are also available with subtle patterns or even neutral backgrounds which highlights the portrait subject.
