A user also mentions that the frame feels slightly flimsy, but he hasn’t had any problems with it. He adds that he is satisfied with its performance so far and that the carrying bag is a nice bonus. I'm a professional photographer and purchased this on the chance that it was as advertised. I shoot 8th grade graduation dances and have always used a black backdrop to make the images "pop". I was worried in buying this that there would be a lot of maintenance in getting the wrinkles out...worked perfect from package to hanging on the frame! Awesome product and well worth the money!


This kit is truly jaw dropping. First of all, the quality of all of the products are amazing. The fabrics on the backdrops is professional level and the quality of the fabric of the soft boxes is even better. the lights are really strong and bright but the soft boxes make it... softer. The Background support is really sturdy and it is something that you can rely on. The reflectors comes in handy if you are one of those people who like to use it. Every product comes with well packaged and most come with a carry bag which is very nice. The second thing that is that the price is unbelievable. Be sure to keep plenty of spare clips, hooks, and brackets on hand so portrait backgrounds and video backdrops stay in place during shoots. Maintain clean and organized work spaces by storing paper rolls and mounting poles on wall-mounted and freestanding storage racks.
Made of moderately thick, heavy material, canvas used to be the most popular among photography backdrops. However, due to its bulk and cost, it has been overshadowed by muslin backdrops in terms of popularity. Nevertheless, a good canvas backdrop will last a long time and provide a classy look to your shots. While you can bring canvas photo backdrops with you, they’re best suited for studio work since they easily wrinkle when stored in a duffel bag.

Great backdrop! I had been looking for a hand painted backdrop but had found that most of them were far too expensive for my budget. Some of the more expensive backdrops also appeared to have far too many design and color variations for my needs. This backdrop is excellent quality and the color is perfect! The slight variations between dark and light gray look lovely in my images.
Football season is nearly upon us and Backdrop Express’s sports and stadium-themed printed backdrops are a great way to capitalize on the bone crunching. They’re available in poly paper or vinyl in either 4 x 5-foot or 5 x 6-foot sizes, or a fabric with sizes ranging from 5 x 6.5 feet up to 10 x 10 feet in a choice of light or heavyweight. The poly paper version is water resistant and has a matte finish. If you opt for vinyl, you’ll get a more durable backdrop that’s also water resistant and has a matte finish. The heavyweight fabric is a polyester/cotton knot that’s washable and wrinkle resistant with a sewn-in rod pocket. The lightweight fabric is a 100 percent polyester weave that Backdrop Express likens to a tablecloth. It, too, is wrinkle resistant, though less than the heavyweight fabric. On the plus side, Backdrop Express says the printed design is “slightly clearer” on the lightweight version. Decisions, decisions. 
This was a great value for the price. The backdrops photograph well, the lights are great and the stand is good. The stand didn't come with instructions to put it together, but wasn't too difficult to figure out. The backdrops did come with some wrinkles from being folded for shipping, but I have them rolled up together on a wrapping paper roll and they seem to be much better (and I haven't even ironed them yet.) I would recommend this product, especially for beginners like myself.
For gear, I used my Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. My camera settings for most of the shots you saw were f1.8,  ISO 640 and shutter speed around 250. No flash. Just natural light. You really just need to play around with it a bit depending on your lighting situation and what not.  Be brave and use that manual mode on your camera or at least the aperture priority setting. I did test shots using stuffed toys while the little guy was napping so as not to “waste” any precious time with him and risk missing any good shots. If you have older kids that will sit still you can get some really cool shots! If only Mr. C was old enough for an M&M bribe. Mr Moose did well though…. Here’s a test shot…..
Great for the price point! Will get lots of use out of it. Biggest issue was setting it up, theres absolutely no instructions that comes with this set. There is a piece of paper titled “instructions” BUT it’s literally just a list of what’s inside the packaging and not how to put it together. Had to watch a video online to figure it out. This was my first time setting up something like this. Also the polls are a little flimsy and I’m always worried about it falling over however again you pay what you get, don’t expect top of the line equipment when you’re purchasing relatively cheap stuff. Anyways thumbs up from me, it’s basically exactly what I needed.

This Studio portrait umbrella Kit is easy to use and setup. These lights work great with digital cameras. It is ideal for all level photographers. It is a complete kit with a complete background supporting system with case. 3 section cross bar open up to 9ft and 8ft height. THREE 6' x 9' muslin backdrop(black, white and green) and a continuous lighting umbrellas kit.
In the shot above I used a two light setup. The main light, camera left, is a Profoto D1 1,000Ws head inside of a 50 inch Westcott Apollo Softbox. While the idea of mixing what is considered to be a high-end strobe with a budget softbox my not sit right with some, I find the indirect lighting source from a Westcott or Photek to give a really nice and even light. The 60 inch Photek Softlighter, which I also enjoy using, may only cost $95 but gives a really nice, soft, and even light. If these lower cost indirect sources are good enough for the likes of Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz, then they are good enough for me. This is exactly what I needed to help my small photography business get off the ground even more! Great product! Very strong stands, and yes, as other reviewers stated, the backdrops are muslin and are very thin, just hang all three or a thicker material behind it and it's fine! I took some really nice Valentines Photographs of my children to test it out! I'm a very happy photographer right now! I did see a few complain about the light fixtures breaking on them, I think the case might be that they are over tighting the bulbs, don't, and you should be fine! I also read a few complain about everything not fitting back into the bag, I did not have this problem, everything fit back in just great! A very happy customer here!! A traditional backdrop support system is the most common mounting solution for photography studios. The backdrop support system consists of a 3-section cross bar and two light stands. By utilizing two of the included cross bars, the backdrop support system can mount backdrops up to 7-feet wide. By utilizing all three cross bars, this system can mount backdrops up to 10.5-feet wide. The included  stands can extend up to 12-feet high for photographing tall people, high movement, or products.
I was a little thrown off that it came folded up in an envelop, as this lead to some significant "creasing". However, I just laid the material flat, rolled it up and hung it vertically so gravity would pull the creases out. After a couple of days of hanging, it is pretty much wrinkle free. I had been a little concerned about other reviewers' comments about the image quality (digital printing) on the actual backdrop, but mine is perfectly fine. Again, my only "negative" is that the backdrop appears to have a greater "floor depth" than what I currently have.
They are plastic, but very strong and the clamping power is quite good. The only annoyance is the little red pads on the end, swivel all the way around so if you are trying to attach something up high with one hand, sometimes they flip backwards and don't grab correctly. You just need to make sure they are facing inwards before you reach up high. I used all 6 clamps to attach a large king size sheet to a linco backdrop stand and it was enough - ... full review
Summer may be drawing to a close soon, but ice cream is everyone’s year-round fave. Unlike the real stuff, Ink & Elm’s Dip n Dots backdrop won’t melt on you and its matte vinyl is tear resistant, so you can use it as a floor drop, too. It’s water resistant in case some real ice cream spills from your subject’s hands (or yours, we’re not judging). What can I say? This background is flimsy and cheap and you can see right through it and it's packed folded and the creases never come out. It arrived with a few runs which is frustrating but you get what you pay for. All of that being said, under the right conditions the backdrop does photograph well, if you know what your doing. Shallow DOF and creative lighting and it did what it was needed for, which in my case was a quick set up for a baby holiday portrait.
A. Flash lighting, also called a speedlight, appears suddenly, at a high intensity. Flash lighting can “freeze” the action, allowing for a sharp photo of moving objects. Speedlights can be attached to the camera, or they can be placed on mounts away from the camera. Because the light from the flash appears suddenly, however, you won’t know ahead of time exactly what kinds of shadows the light will create.
Anyone that does any kind of handy work around the house (or anywhere for that matter) definitely needs to keep a few of these on hand. They are simple. They are plastic, but they feel very strong. The spring inside is REALLY strong! It's got a tight grip for sure! I have around 40-50 of these (different brands) that I've acquired over the years doing woodworking projects. These rank right up there with the best ones! If you're gluing something, these are a must to clamp the parts together. Great grip and as inexpensive as you're going to find! (currently $9.99/1.67ea). Hard to argue with that!
Love this! I am an armature photographer and have only used a few vinyl backdrops in the past. I needed a solid grey backdrop and thought I would try one of these because they are so much cheaper than the vinyl I had purchased in the past. It was super easy to use. I do just natural lighting so it was nice to not have to deal with a glare like I do on my vinyl ones. I also loved that it was so easy to set up and take down. I had read reviews that said collapsing it back up is difficult but I had a friend with me when using it and I asked her to hold one end and it literally took me less than 30 seconds on the first try...maybe we just got lucky? This is a durable and well made photography back drop. All stitching is tight with no loose threads. It includes 5 spring clamps for hanging, or it can be hung using the sewn in rod pockets. It's made of 100% cotton and is a nice weight without being too heavy. Overall I'm very happy with this backdrop and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice white one.
Muslin is a cotton weave fabric that holds dyes and paints with ease. These backgrounds are made of lightweight material and are clamped to a background stand or even draped over anything to transform the look of a picture. As the muslin is made of thinner and lighter material, it does not show wrinkles and can be used as a neutral background or as a dramatic one. It comes in many different sizes and pattern that range from 5x8 to 30x30 feet and solid color backdrop or designer series patterned design. Muslin backgrounds can feature replicas of old master paintings, abstract patterns or marbleized patterns. This material is very portable and fairly inexpensive making it a favorite with photographers.
One of the advantages of using a chroma key background is that it can shorten production time by doing away with the need to change from one background to another. This kind of photo backdrop allows the photographer to freely take pictures without thinking of what background will best fit the image, as they can decide on that part later in the post-processing stage.
